Monchy Rodríguez; "Hay que renovar la Federación cántabra de Kick-Boxing"

El próximo 19 de junio, el campeón de Europa de Kick- Boxing amateur, Ángel Valdivieso ( Monchy Team), pugnará en Serbia por el entorchado continental WAKO profesional, a 78,100 kilogramos, ante el serbio, Steyan Zykovic.
El preparador del púgil de Cabezón de la Sal, Monchy Rodríguez analizó la pelea y el rival, y valoró el estado de este deporte en la región.
P- Supongo que… ¡muy expectantes ante este Europeo!
R- `Si, ya estamos preparados para viajar este miércoles, nos adelantan que hay más de 4.000 entradas anticipadas vendidas, y esperamos un gran evento´.
P- ¿Cómo llega tu pupilo a este combate?
R- `Hemos entrenado a conciencia para esta pelea, lo hemos hecho con el preparador físico de Kiko Martínez, Juan del Valle, mi peleador es un portento físico, está muy fuerte y muy rápido. Vamos a esperar la pelea con el serbio, a ver qué pasa´.
P- ¿Qué tipo de peleador es Zykovic?
R- `Le he visto muchas horas en video, es un rival que tiene 28 años y 180 peleas , es muy duro y muy profesional, pega muy duro de manos y de piernas, nosotros no tenemos tanta experiencia como él, pero seguro que Ángel le va a poner las cosas difíciles´.
P- ¿Donde va a estar la clave para ganar esta pelea?
R- `Creo que el serbio puede pegar un bajón a partir del 2º asalto, recordemos que el combate está pactado a cinco asaltos, nosotros a partir del segundo le vamos a dar guerra, nos hemos preparado para ello´.
P-¿ Fáctor casa, puede ser determinante?
R-`Zykovic allí es un estrella del Kick-Boxing, es una eminencia, además de un peleador muy conocido en este deporte, esperemos que nadie nos quite nada ante el ambientazo que se espera´.
P-¿Qué significaría ganar este título?
R-` Que den la oportunidad a un chaval de 23 años de disputar un continental profesional, para el deporte cántabro y para nosotros es un gran triunfo. Es un título donde nos llaman desde otro país y ganar sería un paso más para seguir jugando en primera división´.
P- ¿Cómo recuerdas el europeo amateur en Bilbao?
R- `Con satisfacción, fuimos a probar suerte, pero no esperábamos ganar, fue una competición muy dura y exigente desde el principio. Noqueamos al turco en primera ronda, y luego vencimos a los puntos a un ruso de primer nivel y con más de 300 peleas, para rematar en la final ganando a Stosic a los puntos´.
P-¿Cómo está siendo el año para el Monchy Team?
R-` Llevamos un año con muchas peleas, no hemos parado de competir con los chavales. Este fin de semana estarán en el Campeonato de España, y luego vendrán unos días de descanso. Lo último ha sido una gran velada en Barakaldo´.
P- ¿Qué tipo de apoyo habéis recibido desde la Federación cántabra para este Europeo?.
R- `Ninguno, no hemos recibido ninguna llamada de la federación, ni ningún apoyo, es algo que no nos preocupa, nos sentimos respaldados por WAKO España y José Vicente Egusquiza junto a LastRound, están a tope con nosotros. Lo que haga y piense la Federación me da igual´.
P-El Kick-Boxing, ¿qué momento vive en Cantabria?
R-` Vive un gran momento, con buenos y jóvenes peleadores. Creo que se podrían hacer grandes cosas, pero es necesario renovar la Federación con gente joven, que tenga ganas de hacer cosas, ya que ahora las cosas están estancadas, y no se mira por los intereses de clubes y deportistas´.
